Teacher's Gift

Today I would like to share with you a teacher's gift that I made for my daughter, Emma's teacher.

The design for my bag is my own design. It was quite easy to put together.

In this second photo, it shows the bag and the double photo frame at the back. Then there is a box of tissues (purse size), a tea bag holder (holds 2 tea bags), a matchbox filled with chocolates, then a notebook and a small box that has a lip balm in it.

On the top one I used silver glitter paper for the background layer and on the second card, I used silver card for the background layer - it's a bit hard to see in the photo.

In this photo, the card on the left, I used snowflake die cuts to create the tree. The card on the right I used a 3d image that I had in my stash.

For my Mum

Today I would like to share with you a scrapbook page that I did of my Mum. At my mum's funeral we used the poem "Rose beyond the wall".

The Rose Beyond The Wall - A. L. Frink

Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by the morning dew,
Shedding it's sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice's length
And unfolded itself on the other side.
The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before,
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing it's fragrance more and more.
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve
And make our courage faint and fall?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive--
The rose still grows beyond the wall,
Scattering fragrance far and wide
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forever-more.

This poem was the inspiration for this page.

Here is another version - this one has the poem on the left.
