Hi everyone, just to let you know that I'm still here. I've been unwell over the past week, and I'm slowly getting back in to my craft projects.

I encourage you over the weekend to try a new technique or two. I have a few projects that I need to finish and will hopefully be able to share them with you next week.

Hope you all have a good weekend and thanks for visiting my blog.

Mini Flip Album using Tags

The past couple of days, I have working on a Mini Flip Album made using Tags for a challenge. I had no idea what I was going to do.

So I started off cutting the tags out from chipboard. I then painted both sides with gesso. Then I decided to use some stencils and texture paste on one side of the tags. I had a kind of idea of what I wanted to do, just didn't know how it was going to work. I took three Stampin Up inks (Going Gray, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding) and sponged over both sides. Once I was happy with the colour, I left them to dry.

Now the hard part, what was I going to put on the tags. In my stash I had some beautiful pink and cream rose stickers. I knew once I saw them, this was what I wanted to use. Before I went any further, I covered the back of the tags with some stripey patterned paper I had with colours that I thought would go with everything. I cut out some floral swirls from the green card stock and layered/glued these behind where the roses would go. I used Kaisercraft Friendship Sentiment stamps on each of the tags. I put some kindy glitz over the texture paste to give it an extra sparkle. Then I punched out silver glitter butterflies to go on the tags.

Overall, I'm really happy with how it has turned out. Here are a couple of photos, the first is of the album closed and the second one is of each of the tags.

A moment captured forever.....

Today, I have another scrapbook layout to share with you. The photo is of my parents on their wedding day. I really like the way that this layout has turned out. I have used Kaisercraft Antique Bazaar Collection Bronze paper and Green Tara Fantasy Blooms Ochre flowers.

The saying on the photo reads "These memories will last a lifetime".

Pelicans

Today I have layout that I put together at a class yesterday at Craft Inspirations. Chantalle McDaniel taught the class - she is a wonderful teacher.

I chose to use photos a friendly pelican that I saw when we were on holidays at Hervey Bay earlier this year.

Here are a couple of close photos of parts of the layout.

Book Card

Today, I have a book card to share with you. This was my first attempt at doing this style of card. I wanted to use the Form-A-Lines Seaside Fun Set designs. I found a verse that I liked and hand stitched that on the inside. I really like the way it has turned out.

Screen Cards

Today I have a couple of Screen Cards to share with you.

For this card, I have used the Fanciful Cats Stitching Pattern from Form-A-Lines. The main card is quite easy to do. I used the Stampin Up Decorative Label Punch for the base of the screen panels. If you don't have this punch, you can either cut it by hand (doesn't have to be as decorative as the punch design), or you can use spellbinder dies (or something similar).

This is another version, that I did. I used the Willow Stitching Pattern, also available from Form-A-Lines. I also added some gold stickers.

Shaped Cards

Today I have a four shaped cards to share with you. The patterns for these cards are from My Scrap Chick. I didn't cut these with my ecraft (I need to see if I can get new blades) - so I cut the cards by hand - I love challenges. Actually they were quite easy to do - the only hard part was choosing which papers to use.

The bottom two I made for a swap at Craft Mad. Check out the other cards that the members have made at this link.

What to do with embossing folders?????

Have you got heaps of embossing folders that you don't seem to use. I know I do. I have been looking at ways in which I can more out of my embossing folders than just to emboss card stock.

So last week, I started to play with my dye based inks, water and embossing folders. For the card base, I used watercolour paper.

This is what did - I selected which embossing folder I wanted to use. I then opened it up and worked out which side was more raised than the other. This is the side that I wanted to use. I then selected the inks I wanted to use - note: make sure that they are dye based/watercolour inks - then I used a sponge and randomly inked the raised side. Once I was happy with the colours, I then took water and misted it on to the inked surface. You will see the ink bead up. Then I placed the watercolour paper to the folder and then closed the folder. Press down over the folder (this is what I did). There is no need to put it through your embossing machine, as you don't want to emboss the paper. After a colour of minutes, carefully open the embossing folder and lift the paper off the embossing folder and leave to dry. Once dry, you can use it as you wish.

To clean the embossing folder - I cleaned it first with a baby wipe and then afterwards, I cleaned them in water to get any left over ink on them off.

Simple Stories - SNAP Happy Pack

A couple of weeks I ago, I attended a scrapbook class at Craft Inspirations, where Chantalle McDaniel was teaching. We were using products from the Simple Stories SNAP Happy Pack. It was a fun day.

This is what I created -

We also made a notebook. There were plenty of other items left so that we can use on other projects. When I have used them, I'll share what I have done with them.

Mini Album using envelopes

Today I have a mini album to share with you. For this album I have used 5 square envelopes as the main base for the album and then just went from there with decorating it. It is similar in the one that I shared in yesterday's post - instead of making the envelopes I purchased them.

I love how it has turned out.

Mini Album using the Envelope Punch Board

Today I have a mini album that I created a couple of years ago for a Craft Get Together. It was inspired by a blog post I saw on We R Memory Keepers blog - click here to find out how to create the base mini album.

You use the envelope punch board to create the envelopes that you use as your mini album. Here is a link to the video tutorial - click here

This is my version.

I used cutting files from SVG Cuts (Fun in the Sun caption) as well as My Scrap Chick - I used bits and pieces from the following kits - Beach Easel Card (4 titles), Hula Bears, Surf's Up Title Page, Aloha Card, and Sam's Class Crab card.

Double Slider Easel Cards

Today, I have 2 double slider easel cards to share with you.

Must admit that they were a bit fiddly to put together, but well worth the effort. I watched a couple of videos on how to do the Double slider part and then combined it with an easel card. Hope that makes sense. If you need any other information, please contact me.

This card has an extra element on it. the butterfly on the front of the card has a spinner mechanism on it.

Where's Emma?

Today I have scrapbook layout to share with you. This was Emma's out fit for last years Book Week - well it was supposed to be - she decided about 5 minutes before she was due to leave to change her costume. I was able to snap a couple of photos before she changed.

This photo shows the flaps closed.

This photo shows the flaps opened.
