Scrapbook Layout

For today, I have a scrapbook layout that I finished yesterday. I just love the photo of Emma - she was such a happy baby....

I've used doilies, and flowers that I had in my stash. The word "beautiful" is from Heidi Swapp.

Split Top Box Gift

On Sunday, it was the last class that Chantalle McDaniel was teaching at Craft Inspirations. She is so inspiring....

I wanted to give her something to say "thank you", so this is what I made. The tutorial for the split top box can be found here at Splitcoast Stampers. I adjusted the measurements so that I could fit 8 envelopes and cards in it.

The first photo shows the box closed as well as a card I made for Chantalle.

The second photo shows the box open.
This photo shows the cards that I put in the box.
Hope you are inspired to try out this style of box. It could be used for many things.

Angry Birds....

I'm back after a small break. A few things were going on that took me away from blogging.

Anyway....

Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with you. I took a photo of my partner and daughter on an Angry Bird ride at our local shopping centre a few months ago. After seeing how it turned out I knew that I wanted to scrapbook it.

This is what I came up with. I like the way it has turned out.

Roses Pocket Letter

Today, I have another pocket letter to share with you. This one I really love, I think it's because I used roses, red roses on it to be exact. I know that the recipient was over the moon when she received it.

This is a photo of the front of the pocket letter.

Here's a close up of the quote - "Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful in your life - Mark Twain".

This is the other side of the pocket letter - inside of the pocket from the left to right - tags, letter, stickers, a stamp, a tea bag, washi tape, a wooden embellishment, die cuts and rhinestones.

I wasn't sure how to send the pocket letter in the mail. So I created this wallet with a belly band. The first photo shows the wallet closed and the second photo shows the wallet when it's open.

Hope I've inspired you to try out Pocket Letters. If you want anymore information, please let me know. Mind you I'm no expert on these, as I've only started.

Wonderful World of Pocket Letters

Today, I want to introduce you to the wonderful world of pocket letters. You may ask what are pocket letters?

Well, it's where you fill up the pockets of a 9 pocket trading card protector, with little works of art (like Artist Trading Cards). Then you fill the other side of the pockets with things like stickers, washi tape, buttons, tea bags, etc as well as including a letter. Then you mail it off to your pen pal - or in my case I joined a swap, so I sent mine to my swap partner.

With regards to a theme, it doesn't really matter what you do unless you join a specific themed swap or agree to a specific theme with your swap partner. Some good information that was given to me, was to do something that I'm comfortable in doing.

The size of each pocket is 3.5 inches x 2.5 inches. To get inspiration on pocket letters check out pinterest, there are heaps of ideas there.

The pocket letter I want to share with you today, is a Mother's Day Theme. This was to be my first swap - I had absolutely no idea what to do. So I put my thinking cap on and thought I would stitch 9 little panels using patterns from Form-A-Lines and Stitching Cards to go on to the front of my inserts. So this is what I came up with -

The next few photos show the front panels close up -

This is the back of the pocket letter -
In order of the pockets the goodies inside are - tag, letter from me, die cuts, flower bling, a tea bag, washi tape, stickers, buttons and some little tags.

These are so much fun to make. I've done another one, that I'm hoping to share with you shortly, have to wait until the recipient receives it before I can share.

Looking forward to sharing more of these pocket letters with you.

Butterflies

Today I have a card to share with you. For this card, I placed the die where I wanted to cut the butterfly out and I traced around the outside of the die with a white pen before I cut the butterfly out. I did this for the other 2 butterflies. I added patterned paper to where the cut out butterfly was to give the card another dimension. I like the idea of having the outline around the butterflies.
